Adding Text using Add or Edit Text (Typewriter Tool) of Adobe Acrobat
Add or Edit Text can be used to type text anywhere on a PDF page. It is similar to the Text Box tool, but includes a different set of default properties.
It is particularly useful if a PDF form does not have interactive form fields. With this tool, you can still fill in the form online.
- Select Tools > Content > Add or Edit Text Box to open the Typewriter toolbar then click the Typewriter button.
- Click anywhere on a PDF page, then begin typing. Press Enter/Return to add a second line.
- If you want to change the text size, select the text, then click the Decrease Text Size or Increase Text Size buttons in the Typewriter toolbar.
- If you want to change the line spacing (leading), select the text, then click the Decrease Line Spacing or the Increase Line Spacing button.
- To move or resize some Typewriter text, with the Select tool click a Typewriter text block, then drag the text block or one of its corners.
- If you want to edit the text again, double-click with the Typewriter tool on the text.
Note: You can enable Adobe Reader users to type text in a PDF using the Typewriter tool. Open the PDF in Acrobat Professional, select File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Adding Text in Documents (that are not fillable forms) and save the file.
