How to | Watermark | Adobe AcrobatSydney Melbourne Brisbane Canberra

Inserting a Watermark using Adobe Acrobat

A watermark is text or a graphic appearing either above or behind existing content. For instance, you might want to apply a watermark saying "Confidential" on pages with sensitive information.

You can add multiple watermarks to a PDF, but each one must be added separately.

  • Select Tools > Pages > Watermark > Add.
  • In the Source area, choose from the following options:
    • Choose Text to create a text watermark, then type the text and format it as desired.
    • To use an image, select File, click Browse, then locate the image file to use. Only PDF, JPEG, and BMP formats can be used as background images.
  • Adjust the appearance and position of the watermark, as desired. You can set options for rotation, opacity, scaling and position.
  • Choose Appear Behind Page to have the page content overprints the watermark, or Appear On Top Of Page to have the watermark overprint the page content.
  • Click Appearance Options and select or deselect Show When Printing and Show When Displaying On Screen, as desired.
